A l’occasion du trentième anniversaire du groupe, Rush a entamé en 2004 une tournée mondiale pour célébrer avec les fans cette troisième décennie d’existence. Pour l’occasion, le groupe a enregistré, juste avant la tournée, un album de reprises nommé « Feedback » ou les trois musiciens reprennent des titres de groupes dont ils ont été influencés.

R30, qui sortira le 28 novembre, est le double DVD tiré de cette tournée. Il a été enregistré à Francfort le 24 septembre 2004. Après Rush in Rio, c’est le second DVD live de Rush à être édité. R30 sera disponible dans deux versions dont une nommée « Deluxe Edition » qui comprendra en plus des deux DVD : deux cd du concert, deux médiators collectors et un backstage pass souvenir.
